After studying Fine Arts and Japanese Language & Civilisation in Paris, Lionel Crooson joined the team of the French magazine Science & Vie, as graphic designer before becoming a journalist and travel writer. Lionel travels the world, speaks several languages and, since 2003, has regularly published articles on travel discovery, anthropology, history and archeology.
His areas of expertise cover ancient and modern world civilizations, notably the Far East, and especially Japan, a destination which he has travelled extensively for over thirty years.Lionel is a regular contributor to the magazines National Geographic France and Les Cahiers de Science & Vie, and also co-author of the travel guides Guide Bleu Hachette Japon and the Guide Vert Michelin Japon.
